Upcoming Events:
31st May - 1st June 2024, Glashouse Hotel, Tallaght, Dublin
We would like to invite you to a practical NRX Soft splinting workshop for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. The tutor, Thomas Eriksson, is a certified orthotist based in Sweden and he is the inventor of the NRX straps concept; he will be introducing this concept in Ireland for the first time.
The NRX is a new material based on CR-foam. It can be used for various dynamic bracing techniques to rehab patients effectively. During the workshop you will learn to make effective, tailor made splints that are also budget friendly and can be easily made in any clinical setting or on the pitch.
This is a hands-on workshop and we will cover applications for lower limb on Friday and upper limb on Saturday. Both workshops will introduce the various NRX materials and their properties. The Friday practical workshop will include: gait biomechanics, applications for hip rotation, knee ligaments instability, patella tendon, patella subluxation, ankle instabilities, foot drop, arch support, hammer toes and more. The Saturday workshop will cover applications for thumb, fingers and wrist injuries & chronic conditions (arthritis, TFCC injuries, PIP/DIP stiffness, mallet finger, etc), elbow issues (epicondylitis, elbow stiffness), post-CVA upper limb, shoulder brace application and more.
You can opt to attend one or both of the days.
